I really enjoyed the creative process of producing 2 banners that were used on stage for Children’s Musical Theater San Jose production of  The Wiz over this past summer. Each banner would be 4 feet by 12 feet in size.  I first photographed two of the actresses that were to play Glinda and Evillene. I photographed the girls on a white background and then dropped out the white using Photoshop. Creating the backgrounds to be used behind the witches was a lot of fun.  I ended up photographing several store window displays as well as doorways at the Union Square Fashion District in San Francisco.  I then used Photoshop to blend and combine several images together to create the backgrounds for Glinda and Evillene . Here are the final versions.

I had the opportunity to photograph the two actresses, who are both playing Lily in the Children’s Musical Theater San Jose production of “The Secret Garden”. I photographed the actresses at the rehearsal hall and then dropped in a background of a garden type setting. Finding the right garden background image was the tricky part. After several hours of visiting parks and neighborhoods I finally found a house that had the perfect background. I used photoshop to create a painterly look to the images to resemble an Old World Artist’s Painting. The project was a lot of fun creatively!
